About Department

The Civil Engineering branch plays a vital role in developing country’s infrastructure. Keeping in view the rising demand of Civil Engineering professionals the college started B. Tech Civil Engineering programme.

4-Year B.Tech. Degree Programme with an intake of 30 students. The students are admitted through “JEE” conducted by CBSE.
In addition to this, Diploma Holders are admitted to 2nd Year through Lateral Engineering Entrance Test LEET- an on-line test conducted by Haryana state counseling Society, Panchkula.

The department of Civil Engineering, at BITS, fulfills the requirement of acquisition of various skills by well designed curriculum, taking into consideration global problems through the practical training, project work, industrial visits, guest lectures and exposure to various civil engineering softwares. The faculty of the Department comes from highly-reputed institutes with distinct teaching and industrial experience. They have specialized knowledge ranging from geotechnical engineering to structural engineering, construction management, and from water resource and environmental engineering to transportation engineering. The well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty and supporting staff are striving hard tirelessly to improve upon the quality of education through effective teaching learning process. Teaching methodology at Civil Engineering Department ensures a perfect balance of theory and practical learning throughout the four years of Course. The Department has ten laboratories with latest equipments for enriching practical experience of students. Here, students are getting equipped with the practical skills required on the onset of their professional life as a graduate engineer. The Department ensures to give to the society a professional with sound understanding of the subject ready to take up his role and challenges coming his way.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)
After 3-5 years our graduates will be: PEO1: Capable to contribute towards Nation’s development by providing sustainable solutions to a wide range of diverse and complicated Civil Engineering problems in different application sectors including physical infrastructure. PEO2: A successful professional in designing and executing national standard products in the field of Civil Engineering by becoming entrepreneurs or pursuing further education and research. PEO3: Able to workin project management and finance so one can easily manage Industries and Design work.
